cool man, i appreciate your consideration. that was the answer i was looking for anyway.

you can use the source. but you cannot build Aura apps, Mediabox, Dekstop and distribute them. use them to make your own under your own name etc.. :) .

ill email it over the w.e

sorry dude ive been a bit slack!!!

yes i will zip it up for you asap :P

will be awesome if you build a similar gui from our base...

would you build a distro? + GUI?

let me know.. because if you are we could make the apps backwards compat too..

ive got all new programs coming soon!

Solitaire!, Cd Player!, App Store, More games! and the program codenamed "illkirch" will have a beta release!

That's great. The more apps the better :) . Of course I want to build a nice sleek gui. I will try to make it eye candy but first I must work on my coding skills because they are a little rusty. It would be great if our apps will be compatible although I want to make my apps apple style: all in a folder. The exe, config files and every dependency to give it great mobility and to be able to put as much info and icons as you like and to be able to move the app anywhere without being stuck to a fixed path like in windows.
But I am thinking way ahead. All I want now is to be able to make a slight modification in the code, build it and see that it works :P

P.S. I am thinking that the very basic apps that we need for our systems to be viable are:
-a web browser
-an IM app
-a media player (that plays a lot of audio and video files, not a lot of separate apps)
-an image editor
-archiver
-document viewer (at least pdf)
-boatload of games
(maybe even a lightweight torrent client)

And the support for these are absolutely necessary:
-HD screen resolutions
-usb
-wireless
-ACPI
(maybe even multiprocessor support)

There is a lot of work to be done :D

Yes i agree, i had this idea for Aura to have a similar .DMG file format like mac os + dependable's all inside.

Aura has the mpeg lib but no "real" apps yet.

screen resolutions is hard under vesa for DOS. have never got it past 1024x768.

Aura also has multi-threading support but its "fucked" (for lack of a better word)

I guess that if the community of DOS geeks enthusiasts would be bigger, things would go a lot faster. Something like unix communities. It's weird why we are so few in the world :D

Anyway, any news on that zip? :)

dos is only for old-skool nerds as such.

dorks use linux

and poncy pricks like me use mac's lol.

i grew up on dos, and its always been my favourite OS and i will develop this OS for years to come :)
