I have multiple FDOS appliances running under VirtualBox (VBOX), and wanted to try Aura M2.
Alas, there is no obvious rodent-free means to get the install running. Aura came up without seeming to detect or use the rat, so I cannot start the install.

Anyone have any interesting ideas about getting the rodent enabled: before or after getting the install running?

Is there any way to bypass the gui for the install?

you dont have to install at all... its an option.

if you choose option c at the boot (still in dos mode) you can exit to dos before the system even boots the gui or drivers.

what is this "rodent" enabled option??

i have never tested this distro under virtualbox

only VirtualPC, Vmware and a real PC

Booting from the live cd, I can't seem to get to the desktop when running under Windows Virtual PC under win7. The mouse cursor appears, but it just goes to the top left corner and jumps around along the top or left edge of the screen.

running ctmouse /R11 seems to affect it by making the jumps smaller, but it's still unusable.

Any suggestions about getting a mouse going under VPC?

Is the issue before or after the actual Aura boot screen?
If the issue is after the boot screen then:
boot into dos, delete kernel.txt, boot into aura, supply us with the content of kernel.txt

cheers

Sorry for the delay in reply, haven't had much time to play lately :)

I'm using http://finncomputers.com/downloads/Aura_1290_M2.iso

Aura boots into the graphical environment where it displays a 'Welcome' dialog and the options 'Load the Live Desktop' and 'Install Aura to HDD'. From here, if I click into the virtual machine to capture the mouse pointer, the cursor jumps to the upper left corner and pretty much stays there. I can pop up the desktop context menu with the keyboard and get the Wallpaper Settings dialog, but from there I'm stuck, doesn't seem to be much in the way of keyboard navigation working.

I can get the kernel.txt file as described, but it's about 40 screens (58k) of text that I don't have an easy way to copy out of the VM (I have network, but not having much luck with the FTP program). Is there anything in particular in this file that I can pull out, or do you need the whole thing?
