Ok, so six months ago M2 was released with..
* "network" support on a dos level and automated Nic driver selection
* limited sound support (Soundblaster mostly)
* Netdock desktop version 3
* skins + themes
* Aura M2 Installer (version 2)
* bits of code cleaned up and added etc.. housekeeping..
M3 is the stage of aura that could not be done without M2's network support. Although the GUI of M2 is the major change and dos based TCP/IP & networking intergration is more under the hood kinds of updates they were a major advancement and one of our goals.
M3 "the GUI updates" (mostly minor)
TCP network settings acquired by gui rather than dos batch
better Dos app support ( .ln files to link & run dos apps)
transparent menus, transparent netdock
user log-in should be finished.
M3 "Applications"
Setup application should be finished and will have the option to install on an existing system (just gui) or clean install with freedos + Aura.
+App Store/updates (un-named at this point)
+New Control Panel (tabbed desktop,screen,themes,skins,mouse,keyboard etc..)
+Media Box will have to wait for now.. vesa support of video playback under dos isnt the best. the Mpeg library has been integrated into the Aura system just no programs exist yet.
+Orchid web browser
Now so far our "development" builds have been pretty crap. with the collaboration of dos apps and aura apps it just wasnt working. so the next version will be 100% Aura based. the free version will be a text mode browser and later a free graphical web browser trial.
orchid you will have to pay for but its only going to be $1 or somthing like that as a donation.
+ Extras, a few simple games will be added also about 6 of them..
there are a few other things to be announced also but i will do that when we get closer to the date of release.
its still in coding stages and ideas but i should have some screenshots in july for you!!
